Over the past years I had the chance to learn from some masters of improvisation in distinct idioms, among them Fred Frith, Zach Brock, Kala Ramnath, Ellery Eskelin. Plus, I am still studying on a daily basis and I think I have an idea what classical string players need in order to dive into the world of improvisation, meaning: I have built exercises that help freeing your playing and establish a new kind of vocabulary in order to play in other styles. A big focus is playing over chord progressions, being rhythmically flexible and finding new sounds on your instrument. Also, I have a good knowledge (16 years of experience) of amplification and effect pedals and how to use those in band and solo context.
I have conducted some workshops at universities in South America, was lecturer at Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and am doing a course for improvisation at the Academy of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
Online Lessons can be held via ZOOM, FaceTime, etc, you name it, and have a duration of 40 minutes.
I provide personal play-alongs and written exercises.
